We just put more cash from savings into some preps (trees and seeds, bee equipment and chickens) as well as stashing more cash in a secure location. I am feeling as prepared as it is possible to be.

Thanks for that feedback, Kathy. It's hard to watch the news sometimes and not think that we need the ability to build consensus now more than ever. This artificial red-blue dynamic is perhaps good for elections but it's no way serve a country.

Thanks for the coin-holder tip, Kathy - great idea. And ditto on the four year old pack of matches; it's hard to overstate the importance of a fire when you're family needs one.

Thank you for that post. I think these stories are the most telling. Not from the fringe. Not from right or left but coming from experience and intelligent listening. I wish more would listen.

I just bought a box of coin holders from staples for seeds. They are small, opague and just the right size for a dozen seeds. I like the fire starter kit idea. Amazing how many people think that that 4 year old packet of paper matches will still light.

Yes, that is one disturbing article. First post, but long time follower. For what it's worth, I appreciate your efforts here. You are one of my "must reads".

Take care,
Tony

I got an apology from Baker Creek seeds saying they were slow because of increased business. I didn't think the order took any more time than usual, but I thought the comment was interesting
