GEO-POLITICAL–INDIA: The terrorist attack in Mumbai, India that began two days ago and is still in progress as we write, has killed about 160 people and wounded 300 or so. The assault was without mercy and included no demands. The only objective in the short-run appears to be nearly indiscriminate slaughter coupled with economic and cultural destruction.
As savage and senseless as these attacks were and are, they are capable of producing a far deadlier effect in the future than what they have so far compiled.
What will the world’s largest democracy, now a nuclear power, do once it has assured itself that it has found the source of these attacks? What did America do after 9-11?
While we await the answers to these and similar questions, we offer our prayers for those who have been killed or wounded and to their families and friends in their time of suffering and grief.
Until next week, keep your eyes on the horizon.
